The Wake of Kian Lloyd delos Santos
August 2017
Kian Lloyd Delos Santos was a 17-year-old high school student shot down by Caloocan City Police. The police group was conducting an anti-drug operation in Caloocan, Metro Manila in August 2017. Kian was wrongly accused of being a drug runner. The slain teenager is one of the thousands killed by the Duterte administration's War on Drugs.
His last words were reportedly: “Tama na po! May test pa ako bukas!” (Please stop! I still have an exam tomorrow!)
Below is a photo of his uncle, Randy Delos Santos, talking to the media about the death of his nephew, expressing his hope that justice will prevail.

Kian's school uniform and ID were put outside his family's home during his wake.

In 2018, the Caloocan Regional Trial Court convicted PO 3 Arnel Oares, PO 1 Jeremias Pereda, and PO1 Jerwin Cruz for the murder of Kian Delos Santos. They are to spend up to 40 years in jail without possibility of parole.
